Although Lily researches computer systems, she can often be found with her violin in hand. A lover of chamber music, Lily enjoys organizing chamber concerts for the broader community and performances as part of the Tsai Duo with her cellist sister, Stephanie. She has raised more than $4000 to benefit local food pantries through performances partnered with Music for Food, and started the Sharing Notes initiative at MIT to bring pop-up music to local campus spaces. Aside from playing classically, Lily also arranges and covers songs as part of the Tsai Duo.
Prior to college, Lily toured as Concertmistress of the inaugural National Youth Orchestra of the USA under the baton of Valery Gergiev, and played in the San Francisco Symphony Youth Orchestra. Lily credits her love of music to her teachers and musical heroes—Li Lin and Lynn Chang, the Parker String Quartet, and Hengjin Park.
